Introduction

Statistics is the science that deals with the collection, description and analysis of data. Statistics play an important role in Business, Industry, Insurance, Economics, Psychology, Management sciences, Agricultural & Food sciences, Engineering and Banking sector etc. Statistical methods are widely used as an ultimate way to prove or disprove the hypotheses which are the basis of any future research. The department of Statistics at Govt. Murray Graduate College is one of the most important departments. The faculty of department comprises talented, competent, experienced and qualified. The Department also teaches Statistics to other Departments such as the Departments of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Psychology and Management Studies. The graduates of Statistics can find jobs in different fields such as: Lecturer, Subject Specialist, Statistical Officer, Statistical Assistant, Quality Control Officer and Research Officer.
